Strongly supported by the Overseas Community Affairs Council, the 2025 Double Tenth National Day Cultural Goodwill Mission came to a successful close on September 7 in the auditorium of Westmont High School in suburban Chicago. This cultural celebration blending tradition and modernity electrified the entire audience. Presented by the internationally acclaimed Taiwan Acrobatic Troupe of the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts, the special program drew hundreds of spectators with its masterful skill and imaginative stage design. The hall was filled to capacity, with waves of applause and cheers throughout, delivering an unforgettable cultural feast to the Chicago area.

The event was hosted by the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (TACCGC) and co-organized by the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women, with strong support from many sectors. Leaders from across the overseas and academic communities attended in person, including 邱垂正, Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan; 類延峰, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, and 黃奕龍, Deputy Director; Westmont Deputy Mayor Ron Gunter; 蔡季穎, Director of the Chicago Culture and Education Center, and 陳怡珍, Deputy Director; as well as 項邦珍, President of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, and 陳達偉, its Board Chairman. Together with many Taiwanese business owners and friends from the overseas community, they joined in the celebration, demonstrating the great unity and warmth of Chicago's overseas community.

The event was hosted by 陳美君, whose polished emceeing filled the venue with warmth. In her opening remarks, TACCGC Chairperson 蘇琪雯 first shared a moving story. She recalled buying corn in Michigan, where she met a retired U.S. Navy veteran who had once served in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The veteran's personal experience reminded her once again of the deep and sincere partnership between Taiwan and the United States. She emphasized that Taiwan and the United States share the universal values of freedom, democracy, and peace—and that although Taiwan is small, it safeguards democracy and human rights in the East with its life and effort. She said she is proud to be both an American and a Taiwanese, and she hoped everyone would enjoy the performance together and share in the vision for Taiwan's future.

The event's success would not have been possible without the dedicated team working behind the scenes, including chief convener 姚宏智, secretary-general 李蘋蘋, host 陳美君, and lighting and sound engineer 俞紀瀛, along with the combined efforts of all the members—蘇琪雯, 傅慧芬, 許夢鈴, 盧建昌, 王慶敏, 林献長, 張芷芹, 吳俊憲, 王知元, and 倪幼薇. Building on a foundation of traditional acrobatics infused with a modern spirit of innovation, the Taiwan Acrobatic Troupe has for many years toured throughout Taiwan and has also been frequently invited to countries around the world to comfort overseas compatriots, strengthen friendly relations, and promote cultural exchange. Praised highly everywhere it performs, the troupe once again showcased Taiwan's abundant cultural soft power.
